On January 19th, 34 years ago my parents had their first baby. A baby girl whom they named Allison Brinkley Lynam. Most of us remember what an amazing day that was to have your first baby. Overwhelming, wonderfully, scary! I was born in Sumter, South Carolina at Toumey Hospital and my father was not in the room when I was born. Boy how times have changed. They took me home and the rest is history... I have amazing parents. They always did everything they could to make sure I was safe and happy. They even decided I needed a playmate when I was 2 and had my baby brother. Thanks Mom and Dad! To this day, my parents do all they can for me and my family. For all they are, all they do and for all their love I am forever endebted to them. I feel I have learned from the best and I hope to be the same kind of parents they are. As a parent, I look forward to celebrating my kiddos birthdays. They are very special days. Much more special to us as the parents than to the kids. But I also feel as I get older that on my birthday, it is my parents I should celebrate. Afterall, they brought me into this world, took good care of me and raised me to be the best I can be. It is their hard work and undenying love for me that is to be celebrated! So, Mom and Dad, I am glad that on my birthday yall are doing something yall wanted to do. That yall are doing something big, something you will never have the oopportunity to do again! That you are surrounded with friends and seeing amazing things. I love you both so much and thank you for all you have done for me, for my family, for my friends and especially for my kids. Thank you for my camera too! :) You are the best, and I celebrate you!(I wish I had some baby pictures to add in here, Dad, can you hook me up?)
So on my birthday I woke up early to get to my first physical therapy appointment. Not exactly what you look forward to doing on your birthday but, it was almost 2 hours by myself. That is something I do not get very often. A gift in itself. Turns out they think I have a
subluxation and a possible
labral tear . I am doing physical therapy twice a week and have to baby my shoulder.
After PT, I went home. Mike and Sullivan had me a small cake, sang happy birthday to me, gave me cards and a gift certificate to Ulta. It was perfect! Sully helped me blow out candles and Mike's card was perfect and made me cry. He told me not to make any plans on Wednesday and that I was to just go with the flow....we will see. Wednesday night my good friends Kerry is keeping Sullivan so that we can go to dinner! I think we are eating at Bonefish Grill. I have heard it is really good. Then to continue the celebrating Allison and Colin are coming from S.C. on Thursday for the weekend! They are flying in early Thursday and leaving later Sunday! I am so excited and feel so loved. My phone rang off the hook with phone calls and text messages and my e-mail and facebook were FULL!! I feel so loved that so many people thought about me. It was a wonderful birthday....I look forward to many many more...
