We did it!

Last Friday the 31st, we finally closed on our first house! Mom and Anna came up on Wednesday to help us and Dad came up on Thursday. WE moved our entire house by 6:30 pm on Friday. It was a LONG day! We made 3 trips back and forth with a 17 foot Uhaul, a Tahoe, a Blazer, Zeke's Z71 and our Jeep Cherokee. Plus 2 kids and 2 dogs. Our bodies hurt like never before but it was worth it. We could not have done it with out mom and dad's help. Next time, we will hire movers though! Dad stuck around for the weekend trying to re-coup and help us get things back together and mom and Anna are still here! The house is still a mess but...we are getting there. It is a lot of work. We love our new house. It is actually in Northern Suffolk which is about 45 minutes from our old house. It is about 20 minutes closer to Mike's work. The house is considerably larger than what we were in so I finally don't feel like we are busting out of the seems. It is a 3 bedroom house but we have a large bonus room that we are using for a play room. My house will not feel like kindercare anymore. We live on a cul-de-sac that is very quiet but has kids in most of the houses and even a girl who babysits!!! Our neighborhood has a pretty pond, a large pool, a fabulous park, tennis courts and a volleyball court. It is a pretty little neighborhood that feel quaint and safe. Our front/side yard is quite big and has 7 crepe myrtles across the front. Our backyard is a bit smaller but is not small. It is triangular so we will have to be creative with it. We have a good bit of small stuff we want to do to the house. We have already had to buy our first lawn mower. We are putting in a fence. The dogs are a pain in the rear right now. We are painting most rooms and removing all wallpaper. Eventually we hope to re-do some of the floors, counter tops in kitchen and replace some appliances but....other than that....we are good. Just small things here and there. We hope to do what we want to make the re-sell better and so we love it more. Possibly a small plumbing issue. So....I will eventually show before and after pictures but....until then, we are a HOT mess!!! But...we are in and we are still so excited and so thankful. I have to give a shout out to my fabulous Realtor Barbara Sgueglia with Exit Realty! She was amazing every step of the way! I highly recommend her! Big thank yous to mom and dad and to Zeke too for letting us use his truck! So....off to do some more settling in....
