On Sunday we surprised Anna and went to see her dance in the National Dance Competitions! She had her lyrical solo on Sunday and we were so excited to FINALLY get to see her dance! (I even got to mark it off my list of things to do!) She did not know we were coming because her Mom said she would get really nervous if she knew we were there. So, we hid...
Let me tell you, this 11 year old child has amazing grace and poise when she dances! She was beautiful and we could not have been prouder! Tears flowed out of my eyes and even Daddy even had a few tears of pride. It was the sweetest thing. After she finished dancing we went to find her. Mike had her a bouquet of flowers and he could not wait to get his arms around her. Heather made her close her eyes and when she opened them and saw her daddy she squealed and ran to him. It took a while for her to let go. Him too. She was so proud he was there. After some love, and pictures we all went to Friendly's to eat and chat and then Mike and I reluctantly headed back. We knew it was going to be a late, long drive and as much as we wanted to stay, we thought it was smarter to get on the road. Now, we are kicking ourselves... She won overall First place for her dance! She got a trophy that is over 3 feet tall! We so wish we had just stayed and shared in her excitement! She was so excited and proud, as are we! On Monday she competed in group lyrical, group tap and group jazz and won a few more trophies! It was a great competition! We are super proud of her and look forward to see in her dance more in the future!
