Sullivan
Sullivan is doing well. He has a little cough and some sniffles but nothing major at all. He is starting to love school and from what I can tell is not crying anymore. Yes, he was crying everyday at nap time. Totally think it is my fault as I still lay with him every night to go to sleep. I think he did not know how to lay and sleep with out some cuddles. I guess he is learning. He runs to the bus now with barely a kiss goodbye. He has proudly gotten all smiley faces at school! :) He loves that we pack his lunch i his cool superman lunch box but tells us we pack too much food! Sully is playing T-ball and doing very well. He is our little athlete for sure! He loves it! He is asking about karate and football though. He still adores his little brother and gives him so much love everyday. We are super proud of him.
Mason
Mason is 17 days old and just a little sweetie. Other than the dark hair and complexion he reminds me so much of Sully as a baby yet so different. He was 8lbs 6.3 oz at his last doctor appointment. Because he was not back up to his birth weight of 8 lbs 9 oz we have to go back today to check his weight. Doc wants to make sure he is getting enough milk. Since I am nursing there is just no way to know how much he is getting. I pray he has gained some weight and more on target. I DO NOT want to have to supplement formula. We will see... He also has some clicking in his hip. He had it at birth and then again at his 1 week and 2 week appointments. We have an ultrasound scheduled in October to see what that is all about. It could very well just be my hormones still running through him causing his ligaments to relax as they did in my body to prepare for child birth. If it is displasia (sp) he said that Mason would need to wear a brace on his legs for a while. We are hoping that it resolves itself soon. Still not getting much sleep. He wants to eat constantly. He is a gently nurser so I am not getting near the milk production that I did with Sullivan. He has terrible gas too. It honestly feels like I poured a coke down his belly. It is sad. I wish I could fix it for him. He hates his car seat. Gets fighting mad when in it. Heartbreaking. But, what do we do? We have to go places and well...we like to go. However, I doubt we will travel anytime soon. Boo. Otherwise he is perfect!!! He love his paci, loves to sleep on his belly and loves staring at the ceiling fan. He is too cute. He is cooing a little bit and it is such a sweet sound.
*UPDATE* Mason weighed 8 ponds and 10 ounces at doctor. That is a gain of 20 grams a day and he needs to gain between 20-30 grams a day. Dr is not worried but wants me to just pay attention to his eating and possibly supplement fenugreek to increase my milk. So, all is good.
So, that is my boys in a quick nutshell!
They make me so happy! More to come...
