Update on the boys!

Mason is now 9 weeks old, a little over 2 months!  He is growing fast and slowly getting easier.  He smiles now but not a lot.  I love it when he does though, it is so cute and such a big smile.  He kicks his legs in delight, or when he is mad.  We are still battling bad gas and tummy pains but it seems to be getting better.  It is obvious he can see better.  He will look at you when you talk to him.  We had his 2 month well baby appointment last week complete with shots!  He was 12 lbs 1.1 oz and 85th percentile in weight.  He was 23 inches long and 80th percentile in length and his head was 41cm and in the 88th percentile.  When he was born he was 8lbs 9oz and 21.5 inches long.  So, he is growing!  By the way, he is well into his 3-6 month clothes now.  He can still wear some 3 month stuff but totally out of newborn attire.  We grow football players around here!  Doctor said he was very strong and said to keep up the good work!  We go back at 4 months.  The next day we went back for the dreaded shots.  Just to make me feel better for sticking him, I went ahead and got the flu shot! He had the rotovirus oral vaccine and 3 sticks in his legs.  It was sad but he actually did great!  He did not cry that hard and as soon as I started nursing him it was as if he totally forgot.  Such a good baby!  He looks like Mike to me.  I even think he will have Mike's green eyes.  Mason's are still pretty dark and although sometimes they look blue, I think they will be green.  He is sleeping OK.  Still wakes several times during the night.  We firmly believe it is the gas.  I have cut out the fiber cereal to help.  We are still breast feeding and although I do not love it as much as I did with Sullivan, I am bound and determined to give him all I can.  It is getting better and better.  So, Mason is thriving and we love him so much and look so forward to watching his little personality blossom!
Sullivan loves him too and has been one amazing big brother.  Still not even a thought of jealousy!  It has been amazing.  He wants to interact with him so bad.  I can not wait until they can interact together, even if just playing peek a boo.  He smiled at Sully the other day and Sullivan was so happy.  Sullivan is doing great in school!  Has only been to time out 1 time and is learning so much.  He does not like to tell us about school for some reason so we learn things he is doing at his pace.  He can write some numbers and letters that I had no idea he could do and is recognizing them now too.  He spelled out TIGER the other day on Mike's shirt!  We were so proud. I think this pre-k program was perfect for him!  We have parent teacher conference next week so we will see.  He is a sweet boy and pretty good but is going through a phase of not listening and he knows everything.  Ha Ha, I thought that did not happen until they were 16.  Little smarty britches.  We are trying hard to teach him well but to let him be a kid too.  Sometimes I wish there was a manual for raising kids!  I guess that is what I have my mom for right?  ;)  He just finished up his t-ball season and loved playing baseball.  He was sad to see it end.  Not much else going on with my boys for now!  You know, I will keep you updated!!
