Superman, the catfish, got ICH, a common fish disease caused by stress. And Clark, the Dalmatian fish got mean. He would not leave Lois alone. Typical male. So, back to Petsmart he went. We now have Lois, the Mickey Mouse tail fish and Swimmie the frog.
When I found Superman, Sullivan's favorite fish, dead I just knew he would be upset. He did know he was sick, matter of fact, he is the one that said it looked like he was covered in sand. That is what ICH looks like. He immediately said, "I guess we need to take him back to Petsmart!" And he is a smart boy! That fish was still under 14 day warranty and we got our $8.99 back! Yeah us!!! Why did OUR fish get ICH?? We think it was the stress caused by temperature fluctuations and high ammonia. We do not overfeed, we are not over crowded but still have high ammonia. OK really, I thought fish were supposed to be cheap and easy??? We have bought more crap for these creatures that just float around. I do not like the smell of the tank AT ALL and dead fish make me gag. Really. These freaking fish are NOT easy. OK, they are getting better and the joy on my little man's face is the best! He loves feeding them and watching them at night. The tank is his new nightlight. And he feels like we saved Lois from the ICH. So, he thinks he is a superhero and what he doesn't know is he is my little superhero! So, if he wants fish...OK. It could be worse right??
