Five years ago today, Mike popped the questions. I will never forget it as long as I live. We were planning to go out to dinner for Valentines Day and he mentioned that he had to make reservations but that is all he would tell me. We were going a day early because we were going to Sumter the next day for a Valentines Day engagement party for Zeke and Brett. I thought he was up to something. Mike came by work around 4:30 and we both headed in our separate cars to my apartment so that I could get ready to go to dinner. On the way I called Ashley and said, "Oh my gosh I think he may propose today!" I was not sure but I had a feeling. When we got to my house, Mike got the trashcans to pull around back and I went on in. When I walked in he had 3 heart boxes of chocolates and 2 cards sitting on the counter. He came in the back and said, "Happy Valentines Day!" So I sat down to read the cards. This part is blurry... I started reading the cards. The first one was funny, I think. When I started reading the second it was so, so sweet that I actually thought he may propose right there in the card! As soon as I finished he pushed the coffee table out of the way, dropped to one knee and in a shaky voice said, "Allison, Will you marry me?" During his sweet words, I put the card over my mouth and in every bit of shock said, "You're not?" I bet that threw him for a loop. I was so so surprised! I then threw my arms around him, cried so hard, the happiest tears I knew and held on tight! And of course said, "Of course I will!" I was so so shocked! So weird how you can think you know something but when it happens it is still such shock! As soon as we took a second to breath I told him I HAD to call Ashley! I had JUST told her I thought he may ask me tonight but I didn't really expect it! I called her and told her! It was a wonderful, unexpected proposal and the best decision I have ever made! I still to this day am the luckiest girl in the world and am still holding on tight!
That is so sweet, and it totally made me tear up!!!!
