The PUNGO Strawberry Festival

What a fabulous Memorial Day weekend we had! Mike was off for 4 days! It was GREAT!!!
On Saturday we met up with our good friends Kerry, John and their kids for some Strawberry Festival Fun! It was such a good time! It was HOT but we managed to stay most of the day! We watched a parade, a very long parade. Sullivan loved it! He kept screaming, " Here comes the band!"!! It was so cute! Then we headed to the carnival part! They rode lots of rides from the 4-wheelers to the twirly apples. Sully threw his first dart and popped the balloon on his first try! He is so coordinated! He won a little stuffed dog. Then he picked the right frog and won another quality stuffed animal. This time a snake. He thought he was something! After a home packed lunch on the lawn we headed to the military exhibit! Our kids loved this part the best! They climbed in all kinds of military vehicles, while we begged them to get out! All 3 of them got in a boat at one time and I thought we would never get them off! They had a blast! Pushing buttons and pulling levers and talking on CB's! They had fire trucks and all! They got to climb up on top of some and look through the grenade launchers and Sullivan even held a few guns! After all the excitement we could handle there we then headed to the 4-H tent for some animal fun! They had a hilarious lamb obstacle course and lots to do for little ones. They milked a fake cow, watched some baby ducks play and petted some animals. We were all pretty hot and tired. Then there was the military working dog presentation! As always fun to watch! Makes me wish my dogs were better trained. It was finally time to go. On the way out we shared a strawberry shortcake, because you just can not come to the strawberry festival and not eat some kind of strawberries. We had a great time and look forward to more fun this summer!

(Yes I know some of you are saying to yourself that you can not believe I let him hold it! I promise we will teach gun safety in our house! And there will NEVER be one of these in our house! )
