I am so far behind in blogging so this is going to be like a newsletter of sorts!
August has been a whirlwind!
We registered Sullivan for school! He got accepted into the early Start program here and will be attending the elementary school in my neighborhood! It is a fantastic school and we are so excited! I did not think he would get in because he did SO well at the interview but...he did! He will go 5 days a week from 9am until 3:15. It is treated very similar to kindergarten so I guess this will cut down on our random travels. It will be worth it though. He will ride the bus which will pick him up here and drop him off here. He is thrilled! He calls it big boy school and can not wait to go. We went and met his teacher who so far I love. His orientation is Thursday and he starts on Sept 7th with all the kids in the area. I will cry, I promise but, I know it is best for him and for us. He is going to learn so much and have so much fun and it gives me time to take care of Mason. I am excited for him and plan to be a very involved mama!!!
We also were so thrilled to have had a baby shower up here. My sweet friend Kerry hosted it for my friend Erin and I! We are due 4 weeks apart! She is having a girl. It was a wonderful time with good food and company and awesome gifts! I have felt so loved lately!
Oh a sad note, my sweet hubby did not make chief again this year. No one from his command did. He has worked really hard and deserves it but, I guess it is just not his year. We were disappointed but it is par for the course when you are talking about this stuff. At least it was not his last try. We have several friends who have to retire now since they did not make it. Maybe next year! On a happy note, He took his last class for his associates degree today and passed it and well...he will have his degree by eval time. That will help for next year. I am so proud of him. I just know how bad he wants this promotion.
Baby Mason is doing great! Slowing down a bit as he runs out of room. He is not expected to be a large baby even though I feel like he is huge!!! They were saying 8 pounds max. We will be induced on the 3rd of September and will have family and friends here visiting! Fun times! I can not wait to see his little face and know he is OK and precious! Mom is here and has been and we have been doing his bedroom! It has been so wonderful having her here! Dad is headed up on Thursday and then Allison G and Anna are coming up early Friday morning. And, looks like we might get nicked by a hurricane Thursday night/Friday morning! Well we got married in one, may as well have a baby in one and NO, our kid will not be Earl or Gaston!!!!! He will be Mason Michael, Michael after his daddy and late grandfather!
We also celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary! See, told you we have been busy! We did not do much due to be being uncomfortable and all that but we did go to a movie, dinner and ice cream! It was a nice time! The last date we will probably have for a while! Mom was here so she and Sully went on a date too!
We celebrated lots of birthdays in August! Happy Birthday to Samantha, who had a super duper pony party, to my sweet friend Kerry, Bootsie, EV, Brenda, and to Kurt(RIP). We thought about each of you as you celebrate another year and wish you many, many more!!!
Hum...is that all of August? I am sure it is not but...I guess I will end with some pictures my big kid surprised me with! He drew them on my windows and did such a great job that they are still there! The first is an elephant and the second a snail! Love him!!!
Oh and just wait until I blog Masons room! It is so stinking cute! I LOVE my Mom being here!!!!! Oh and I almost forgot! Mike took Sullivan fishing while Mom and I piddled. They caught 2 bream and a turtle! He got in the car when it was time to leave and said, " Man that was some hard fishing daddy!" He has become such a funny boy! They had a great time and he has not stopped talking about it! Love my boys!
