PRIDE

That is the word that comes to mind at graduation.  Whether it be pre-school, kindergarten, high school or college.  The room is always full of pride.  As it should be.  A few weeks ago we had the honour of watching a sweet friend graduate with her associates degree.  She is a military wife, a mom of 2, vice president of the PTA, teaches Religion School at her church and attends baseball, dance, soccer and whatever else they have going on just about everyday of the week.  But somehow, with a ton of support from her hubby, she did it.  She took a full load every semester and did it.  She was proud when she walked across that stage and accepted her degree.  Her husband was proud as he watched.  Her children were learning a lesson as they saw their mom persevere.  Her Mom, Step Father, Grandmother, Mother in Law and friends were all proud of her as she became a college graduate.  Not just full of pride but also of inspiration.  She not only graduated from college while raising a family but during this time she also kept her house clean (not sure how) and made a 4.0.  Now that my friend is something to be super proud of.  And she was...

As I was watching the ceremony which like most was long I noticed other people with stories too.  Makes you wonder what their story is?  This man was sitting in front of us and I could not help but wonder about him.  He sat and listened.  He accepted his degree.  He gave a thumbs up.  He too was proud.
Every single person there was full of pride.  Graduating from college is such an accomplishment.  It feels good.  Actually it feels Great!  And these graduates deserve all the pride and joy that came that night.  The flowers, balloons, limos and love that was there for them, to celebrate their very own, victory.
Congratulations my dear friend Ann.  Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!  We are so very proud of you.  Job well done my sweet friend, job well done.
