My little man is 2/3's of a year old....

I love watching my boys grow.  I do. But I so wish it would all slow down.  Mason turned 8 months old on the 4th.  And with it came his 2nd double ear infection and round of antibiotics.  Bless his little heart.  It has been a rough week.  But, last night he was the happiest I have seen him in...well, EVER!  He is starting the seperation anxiety but I think as he feels better that may get a little better.  I think he is cutting a few teeth.  Lord help us the drool is out of control!!!  I mean seriously it pours from his mouth at times.  We sometimes have to change his clothes an hour after we dressed him because his shirt will be soaking wet.
He is such a cute baby.  He has beautiful skin, lips and eyes!  His little wrists look like they have little white rubber bands on them because of his baby rolls and his tan.  (Yes, I use sunscreen)  We had a little scare last week.  We knew from a previous scare - this kid is going to give me gray hair - that he has a hydrocele.  [Hydrocele- fluid in scrotum, around testicle from the canal that lets testis drop not closing off.  Should close up by age one and if not, possible minor surgery to close off]    I took him to pediatrician for all this congestion that just would not go away.  I thought he had a little cold but he was so cranky.  Turns out both ears were infected AGAIN and after a close check up she was sure that he had an inguenal hernia with a hydrocele.   Told us to bring him to ER if he starts vomiting.  Prescribed antiobiotics.  Bleh!  Yep, second set of ear infections.  That was Friday.  Saturday he felt a little crummy and wouldn't really eat.  Sunday he threw up 3 times and had diarrea 4 times.  Happy Motheres Day to me!  So, we took him in.  After x-ray, ultrasound and a whole lot of time...oh wait let me tell you about his ultrasound.  They had to call in the tech who had 1 hour to get there from being called.  Felt like we waited for hours.  Anyway, finally they come get us and we head down.  She started out with a bad attitude but it got better.  She started "looking" around and asked me to hold him really still, which was practically impossible.  Sully and I were singing the ONLY song I have found that calms him, Wheels on the Bus.  He was OK.  She made a terrible face, said, "hold on I have to get the doctor!" and jetted out of the room.  I did not see her face but Mike did.  We were alarmed to say the least.  Then...she comes back in and said the doctor was coming in to do the ultrasound in "real time" when meant she would be doing the procedure with him over her shoulder talking to us about it.  She asked us if he had been on an antibiotic for this and if we had been referred to CHKD (local Childrens Hospital) and she was obviously worried.  Mike said," Can you at least tell us a little of what is going on?"  She said no because she is not a docor and can not diagnose blah blah blah...  She left the room again.  Now we were freaking.  No clue what was going on.  What if's going crazy in our head.  She came back in, again with out the doctor and said he was on his way and told us to please ask him as many questions as we feel we need to.  She started ultrasound again and honest to God said, " Oh nevermind, I found it.  I couldn't find his left testicle earleir. I'm sorry but I take these testicals seriously.  I dont play around."  Really?  Really?  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
Well to be honest, I was not mad at all...just relieved, tired and ready to get my babies home.  Turns out he only had a hydrocele and the stomach upset we think was from his medicine.  Praise the Lord he is OK.  I told you this kid was going to give me gray hair.  On to better things...
He is trying to clap.  It is so cute!  His "Auntie Ann" has been teaching him and until lately he would only do it for her.  No matter how hard I tried.  I tried to get it on video tonight but he would not do it for me.  He wants to crawl but is just not there yet.  He leans forward but I do not think has the strength or confidence yet to rock all the way forward.  He squeals and giggles and babbles and I love it all.
He still thinks his big brother is the best thing sinced pureed sweet potatoes.  His entire face lights up when he sees him.  I love having one forward facing and one rear facing in the car.  They both laugh so hard and talk and play!  Sullivan is an amazing big brother.  He makes me proud every single day.  We are having some listening problems but we will stay diligent and hopefully this too shall pass.  He is doing great in school and at t-ball.  He is growing so very fast.  He finally started taking showers a few weeks ago.  He thinks he is something.  Man oh man I love my boys!!!  Looking so forward to this summer!  Anna will be here the entire summer.  We are all so excited but I think Sullivan is even more excited than all of us put together.  I simply adore my family and am blessed beyond belief.
