D.C. Continued...

Saturday morning we got up and got moving.  Mike went and got us yogurt and fruit from the deli across the street to eat in our room as we got ready.  We headed out with an agenda.  How much can we see?
We saw lots!  We started out at the United States Navy Memorial.  It was good.  My favorite part was the Lone Sailor out front.  Should have moved faster through this one but, glad we went.

After getting our fill of the Navy we headed to the National Archives Museum.  Our first line.  But we only waited about 45 minutes.  Once in we saw the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.  Glad we saw it.  Thankful for it.  For obvious reasons, no pictures were allowed.
Next, we went to the Holocaust Museum.  This was a beautiful museum but, it took forever to go through it.  It was sad and so much information that was just depressing.  The most moving part was the pile of shoes.  I'm a realist.  The pictures were sad but the shoes made it all real.  We left there feeling depressed and headed somewhere fun.
The National Museum of Natural History was our next stop for fun!  I did not think this one was going to be all that wonderful but it was.  It was beautiful!  Animals everywhere!  And, the Hope Diamond.  I had no idea it was blue.  And I thought it was bigger!  Ha ha!  We saw most of this museum but left before seeing it all because the crowds were out of control.  Seriously out of control AND Anna really wanted to see the National Museum of American History.

So, we headed to the National Museum of American History.  Crowds were MUCH better.  No lines at all!  Neat museum.  Saw lots of First Lady's dress' including Michelle Obama's inaugural dress, Michael Jackson's hat, the American Flag that inspired the lyrics for the Star Spangled Banner, Fonzie's jacket, Minnie Pearls hat, old Superman Comics that cost 15 cents, Dorothy's red slippers, the original Muppets and much, much more... It was fun!

By this time, our feet were killing us, our brains had soaked in all they could handle and we were starving.  So, off to Old Ebitt Grill .  A cold beer and some delicious food at the oldest restaurant in town.  We were set for the night.  Well, not with out a dip in the rooftop pool! Which was sweet I might add.
OK, now we can call it a night.  One last day in this amazing city and our body needs rest.
