A Quick Little Vacay

Our plan was to spend the last week with Anna at the Santee with family.  Well, due to leave time etc... we decided not to spend and entire week but that Mike would head home on Sunday and I would stay until the next weekend.  So, we headed South on Tuesday night.  We played Santee style which means sleeping in, lots of swimming and relaxing and fishing.  If it could have only lasted longer... Mason took his first dip in the Santee and loved it.  That child loves water. He drove the boat for the first time and took naps in the hammock.  Sullivan finally learned to tee tee off the dock or on a tree.  He was so proud.  And we did a grandkids photoshoot.  We all had a blast!

Unfortunately we had to take Anna home.  Fortunately that meant we got to go spend time with Noni!  We went out for pizza and played some Phase 10 Twist and had a good ole time.  The next day Noni took us to Calhoun's Farm to play.  It was such a good visit.

We dropped Anna of Saturday afternoon and headed back to the Santee so that Mike could get up and drive Sunday morning.  Chief results were due to be out so he wanted to be back just in case. Sunday morning we went on a boat ride before Mike left to put the ashes of our dogs in the lake.  It was their favorite place so we put them where they love to be, finally.  Daisy, Shelby and Bella. You were all great dogs.   And after we took a little ride...

And more Santee fun until it was time to head back home...

Oh wait, that is not true.  Santee fun, until Thursday, when Mom had her Remacaid appointment.  The boys and I went to Columbiana Mall and piddled while she got her infusion.  We picked her up 10 years younger and took off shopping.  Actually we had to go to Build A Bear first.  Sullivan was dying to go and G.G. said she would get him a prize for being good.  So, off to build a bear.  As we were walking in I noticed Mason felt warm.  And as Sullivan was building his bear, Mason ruined his good time by puking all over me and the floor.  I was concerned because a few days earlier he had fallen in the chair and hit his head.  He was fine but started screaming and vomiting in the middle of the night. We took him in and they did a CT and all was fine.  Just a minor concussion.  Said he would feel puney for a few days.  So, when he started vomiting in Build a Bear the mommy alert went off.  I just knew he had ear infections.  Would have put money on it.  We went ahead and took him in since the lake house is in the booneys and I do not have doctors here.  After lots of shopping time lost, a CT scan and ears checked they said one of his ears may be infected.  Also said that he did not have a temp but I just knew he did.  Mama's know these kind of things.  Gave us antibiotic script.  He was acting better so we headed to eat.  Sat down at Chilis at 10:30 pm and he ate.  Just as I was getting into my salad good he started vomiting again.  Oh boy...  We packed up and left.  I was at a loss of what to do.  Was it is head?  His ears?  Or could he have a hernia from his contracting hydrocele??  I just did not feel good about that Urgent Care so we stopped at an ER.  Glad we did.  102.5 degree fever.  Double ear infections.  Ultrasound showed no hernia, only hydrocele.  And an hour later we were done but...Sullivan was not vomiting in the parking lot.  Oh no.  A bug.  It was a bug all along.  Not his head,  Not his ears.  Not a hernia.  Just a belly bug with a rash all over both of them and fever. We pampered the boys for 2 days and they were pityful.  It was so sad.  I hate seeing my boys feel so bad. Luckily I did not get it but Mom did.  Once everyone was better we came home and I was ready.  And, G.G. came with us. Mason had an ENT appointment as soon as we got back and the doctor said that he did not have an ear infection nor did he show ANY signs of ever having one.  Never took anymore antibiotics and was fine.  Mama-mia.
