On September 4th, 2011 our little guy turned 1 year old. Wow, how time has flown. What a wonderful sleepless year it has been. I have always heard that when you have your first child and are pregnant with your second you wonder if you have room to love the second one as much. I am here to tell you that it is a FACT that your heart actually grows. It makes room. And it HAS to because not only have I fallen head over heels with this little guy but have fallen even more in love with his big brother and Daddy. Mason has brought so much love into our family. We have laughed. We have worried. We have cried. Isn't that exactly what parenthood is all about? He is definitely a head strong little guy. Knows what he wants and is going to do his best to get it. He reminds me a lot of Sullivan as a baby yet is his own little self. Mason is crawling and cruising but not quite walking. Blessing in disguise?? Maybe. But we are ready for him to take off. I want to see him go and the look on his face when he does. He has the most gorgeous eyes. With lashes that women pay for. He can say Mama, Dada and tried to say Uh Oh but knows he can just grunt to get what he wants. We are working on some signs. He has 7 teeth and may just be teething as we speak. He loves his big brother so much. Loves group kisses. Loves books like I have never seen. Loves to swing, press buttons and ride in his little red car. He loves cars and balls. And he loves his mama and daddy. We simply adore him and are so blessed to have him. For his birthday we did a sock monkey party with family and a few friends at the Santee. For us this is special because it is a place we want our kids to love, a place they can grow up being kids and a place that has been special to us for a long long time. Sullivan's first birthday party was here too.
It was a sweet party. Good weather. He got some wonderful gifts and enjoyed his cake!!!! Sullivan was so excited to give him a gift he picked out and well it was just perfect. (other than missing a few special people) Thank you all for being a part of his special day. It really means the world to us.
Mason,
We love you more than you will ever know and are blessed to have you in our lives. You are the birthday gift! We wish you all the wonderful things life has to offer. Happy Birthday little guy!!! And many many more....
With all our hearts...
Mommy and Daddy
