So, we made it through the first week of the first leg. I have this weird thing where I group things... I know it is weird, actually I do it more than I even realize. This deployment is broken down into legs. Three legs to be exact. The first leg is school. The second is his first 6 months (or until we see him again) in Bahrain and the 3rd is the last part of the year he is in Bahrain. The first leg is the shortest with 11 long but comparatively short weeks. We just finished week 1 and we feel good! We had a rocky start. Sullivan has struggled a lot with being extra emotional and not listening but we are falling into the routine of things. Luckily we have been able to talk to Mike lots as well as face time him and this weekend we figured out skype. Seeing him helps lots! Plus Mason has turned into a little ham and keeps us laughing lots! We have been relatively busy but mostly I have been trying to get our house in order. I am in simplify mode. Yep, my trash is full and not only because I missed putting it out this week. ( That was Mike's job!)
We had a urology appointment for Mason. He has another hydrocele on the same side but this time he wants to see if his body will absorb the fluid on it's own. On Friday Mason and I surprised Sullivan and had lunch with him at school. Made him a little emotional but he was fine. I promised Sullivan that every Friday night he and I could have movie night and he could sleep with me as long as he went to bed like a big boy during the week. So, we watched Kung Fu Panda 2, had ice cream and then fell asleep to a little monster jam. It seems I end up with both boys in my bed every night at some point. That is fine though, as long as they sleep most of the night in their own bed. We also made a countdown link! Sullivan decorated each link and we hung them on our tree. (Yes I know it is dying but I am hoping it will live) We did a weekly one for the first leg so we get to pull our second link tomorrow! How stinking exciting to see the weeks are passing! Each link has something to look forward to that week. This week is my birthday. :) Going to be a weird one not having Mike here but it will be fine... So I think that is about all for this week. Just counting down the days and weeks and trying to enjoy them as we count down!
