Goodbye Daddy

After our traditional Sunday morning making pancakes and a lunch date it was time for the inevitable.

We had to take Mike to the airport so he can start his deployment.  He is currently in school in Mississippi, will then go to Cali and then to Bahrain after a few weeks home with us.  It was a sad day.  I held back tears all day but as we neared the airport it became harder and harder to hold back.  Mike is not only an amazing father but he is an amazing husband and friend.  We love spending time together and this time apart will be hard on all of us.  When we got to the airport, they let us through security so that we could say our goodbyes.  And when it was time to say goodbye, we all cried. (Well, except Mason.  He just doesn't have a clue yet.)  After Mike boarded the boys and I stayed and watched the plane all the way until it was out of site in the sky.  And then we blew him kisses.

You will be missed dearly Mike.  Our next 16 months will not be the same with out you but, we know you are coming home.  And for that we are forever grateful.  We will be right here waiting on you with arms wide open.  You mean the world to us.  Do well in school and at work.  Make this sacrifice matter.  And most importantly stay safe.  We love you and will see you soon.
You loving wife and adoring children
