A California Surprize!

Mike and I surprised Sullivan with a goody box filled with San Diego stuff,  including plane tickets for he and I to go see Daddy in San Diego!  He was so excited!  I on the other hand shed a few tears and about wet my britches!  Fo real. Not only was I excited to go to California for the first time EVER but, I could not wait to see my sweet hubby! (or at least what was left of him, he has lost quite a few pounds!)  The kicker, Mason and Blue were staying with GG and Pop.  No big deal for Blue but Mason is well lets just say a control freak.  OK, maybe not the right word but he wants his way like 150% of the time and doesn't really like people unless he feels like liking them and that is when they play with him exactly the way he wants them too, all the time.  Oh and I cant be around.  Understand the ordeal???  So, my brilliant and amazing parents came up here to warm up to him and do some projects with me.  And they brought Elliott to play with Sully!  Daddy repaired and tiled the boys bathroom floor.  Mom and I painted and cleaned and weeded and played and organized!  Oh and I grouted the floor like a pro!  (patting myself on the back!)  Dad and Elliott took off Monday and left Mom to do some bonding and help me get my house all ready for Mike to come home! We had fun!  When we took off to SC on Tuesday (20th) my house looked fantastic! With a beautiful paper plate sign for Mike!

On Thursday we headed to Charlotte, N.C. to start our journey to Daddy!  We were so excited and thanks to a little sweet pill I was not anxious about the flight.  From N.C. to Texas Sullivan asked if we could ride a horse while we were in TX.  I was sorry to tell him no but we did have the BEST Mexican food while in the airport.  Then our last flight from TX to Cali!
Mike was at the bottom of the escalator waiting on us.  But where the HELL was the escalator!  Felt like forever before we got to it!  When Sullivan  saw him I had to restrain him from running down the escalator.  But once at the bottom, he jumped in his daddies arms, laughing our loud with joy.  Tears in mommies eyes.  Those 3 months had been rough for him.  Now let the FUN begin!  To get our car and then to toodle around!  We stopped at the beaches on Coronado and then went out to eat.  I enjoyed the BEST margarita I have ever had!  And we were exhausted!

After a good nights sleep we checked out of Mike's room, into the Navy Lodge which was so much nicer than we expected!!  A great family place to stay!

Then headed to Legoland!!! It was a blast! Perfect for Sullivan's age!  Nothing was too big for him to ride and we could ride everything with him! Of course he wanted to ride everything with Daddy but that was OK!

When it was closing time, we were not finished yet and unfortunately missed a couple of rides but had a blast!  We then headed to La Jolla Beach to see the seals at The Children's Pool.  This was absolutely amazing to me.  Beautiful to see these animals living in the "wild" so close.  A MUST see if you go to San Diego!

Shew....what a long but wonderful day.  Off to dinner and then to bed!  We were tired but happy!

Good morning it is time for Lions, and Tigers and Bears Oh my!  Yep, we were off to the San Diego Zoo!  From what we heard the best zoo EVER.  We got there an immediately boarded the double-decker bus to give us a tour.  And I was freezing.  Chills the works.  Bought a coat and took some Motrin.  Still struggled.  Made the best of our time there though.  Saw every imaginable animal and even fed giraffes.  Great zoo!

After our feet hurt so bad we did not want to walk to the car, we toughed it out and headed to the car.  We still had a good bit of day light so I popped some more Motrin and we headed to Missions beach in search of surfers and good food!

This time instead of headed home for some much needed pillow time, we headed to the ER.  After ALL that Motrin, I still had a 101.4 degree fever.  Negative test for the flu.  She gave me some meds and sent me on my way. To bed....
The next morning I was happy to be fever free and feeling a bit better because Seaworld was the thing I was most excited about!  And it lived up to it's expectations!  We had a blast!  Saw as many shows as possible and took a tour.  We stayed dry at Shamu - lucky us I guess but had great seats!  We rode rides and got a little wet.  We ate junk food and we got a behind the scenes tour!  That was neat.  We saw the maternity ward and nursery for dolphins, saw rescued animals and got to feed the sea turtles.  What an experience.  What an experience.

The weather was wet that afternoon but it did not stop us.  We played all day long.  Off to dinner and to bed...  I don't think Sullivan made it home awake a single night yet!  We were exhausted but having so much fun!
The next morning we headed up to San Diego Safari Park!  What a cool place!  I liked it better than the zoo!  We saw more animals and just enjoyed a beautiful day!

We topped this beautiful day off with a Cheetah run!  That was neat!  He can "boogy"!  But the coolest part was that his best friend is a dog.  What a neat concept.  What a neat park.  What a super cool day!
We stopped at a street corner market and bought some ostrich jerkey and headed back to town for dinner and some relax time!  The next day we were flying back to SC and had lots to do.  Once back at our hotel, Mike started with the chills and fever.  Motrin and sleep and the next morning we hit the clinic.  Some meds and we were out the door!  A few last stops and we headed to the airport!  What fun we had!!!  An amazing trip to top off a long 3 months and before a long year!

Thank you G.G. and Pop for keeping Blue and Mason!  I know they had a blast and did not miss us a bit!  Also thank you for taking good care of us, for getting us to and from the airport and just all you do!  This will be a trip we remember forever!  I just need a bottle of Fragolina and some girls to scrapbook with!  ;-)
BYE BYE SAN DIEGO!  Hello home!
